Condor Middle College will be another option for students in the district’s independent studies program, Superintendent Gabe Soumakian said.
“Students will be required to take at least one course per semester at Oxnard College as part of their curriculum,” Soumakian said. “This is an opportunity for them to see what it’s like to be on a college campus, to see what it’s like to be in college.”
Moorpark and Ventura colleges already have similar programs. Moorpark has The High School at Moorpark College, which has about 100 students in 11th and 12th grades. Ventura has El Camino High School at Ventura College, which has about 220 students in ninth through 12th grades. Both programs allow students to combine high school and college classes.
