Rio Mesa High School senior captain Riley Abraham, center, is mobbed by classmates after the Spartan girls’ basketball team beat West Torrance 49-47 in overtime during last weekend’s CIF-Southern Section Division 3AAA semifinals. With the win, Rio Mesa advanced to its first section hoops final in program history. The Spartans, co-champions of the Pacific View League, take on Arroyo Grande in tonight’s title game at Anaheim Arena. Tipoff is slated for 7.
