Pacifica High senior Vanessa Vasquez picked a good time to score her first goal of the season.Having never suffered a loss to Oxnard during her high school soccer career, Vasquez ensured it would remain that way.
Her goal in the 58th minute salvaged a 1-1 tie for the four-time defending champion Tritons in a Pacific View League game on Tuesday afternoon at Oxnard High.
“It feels good because Oxnard is our rival,” Vasquez said. “I knew we had to score or else we were out. We needed to fight with our hearts and not give up.”
