All Corbin Covey wanted was a chance at redemption. He watched a third-down pass slip in and out of his hands early on Thursday night. So with the Camarillo High football team making a comeback from a 17-point deficit, Covey stretched out and made a diving 39-yard touchdown catch.

Covey’s timely play helped host Camarillo recover from a 37-20 deficit in a 48-44 win that clinched the Pacific View League title outright for the Scorpions.

“That’s the least I can do to give back to my teammates,” Covey said.
