Minimum Requirements for Graduation

Minimum Number of Credits for Graduation

English 40
Mathematics

Beginning with Graduates of 2006: 30 credits Mathematics, which must include 2nd semester Algebra 1, or 2nd semester Interactive Math 1, or 2nd semester Algebra 1B SDC, or Algebra C or a higher math course.

Physical Education

During each spring term, grade 10 students who have not previously passed the California Physical Fitness Test and who are enrolled in any course receiving P.E. credit, including JROTC, must demonstrate proficiency on at least five (5) of the six assessments of the California Physical Fitness Test. If they do not demonstrate this level of physical fitness, they will be required to enroll in a Physical Education course during grade 11. [Refer to Administrative Procedures for BP 6146.1]

Beginning with graduates of 2006, all graduates must pass the California High School Exit Exam X *The computer proficiency requirement may be satisfied through computer course completion or teacher certification. Beginning with the Class of 2009, the procedure for demonstrating the minimum computer proficiency requirement will be found under Administrative Procedures AP 6146.1. (See Board Policy 6146.1 General Graduation Requirements)
